Designed by Kirkor Architects, Janet Rosenberg & Studio Inc, and RV Anderson, Sherwood at Huntington’s extensive green roofs were installed in 2017 with BioBerms™ providing a green corridor that connects with Sherwood on Huntington and the surrounding majestic 150-year-old oak forest. In addition to managing stormwater on the rooftop, innovative BioBerms™ were chosen as an economical option to enhance biodiversity.
Sherwood at Huntington
Hybrid Green Roofs
Hybrid Pre-Grown and Plant-in-Place
Sherwood at Huntington’s low maintenance sedum green roof easily converts to a biodiverse ecosystem with the BioBerm™ option. Grasses and native plants are planted through mature vegetated mats that roll over bermed areas supported by additional growing medium. BioBerm™ is a clever option to enhance biodiversity, topographic variation and create habitats for pollinators & birds, to achieve LEED Certification, and meet the Toronto Green Standard Native/Biodiverse requirements and the Design Guidelines for Biodiverse Green Roofs.
