Monza Condo Residences

Retain and Detain

The StormCap™ Detain 3° is a blue green roof that was a perfect solution for Monza Condo Residences built on a challenging urban infill site in Toronto.  When the Benvenuto Group development could not meet stormwater detention requirements, Studio TLA and LEA Consulting upgraded the orinally planned vegetated roof to the highly specialized and fully customizable StormCap™ Detain 3° blue green roof to reduce and delay peak flow.  It’s an innovative stormwater management solution to retain and detain back-to-back and second day storms to help mitigate flash flooding. This blue green roof is ideal for sites such as Monza and other urban infill developments and areas with a high water table.

Specialized Detention Blue-Green Roof

Unlike blue-green roofs that use control flow drains, StormCap™ Detain 3° uses friction detention to slow down runoff across the entire roof surface, and thus works efficiently on low-sloped roofs without the need for control flow drains.  Customizable detention layers can temporarily store up to 100 mm (4″) of runoff on your roof.  This helps downsize or eliminate the need for underground storage tanks, freeing up valuable space and delivering a strong return on investment.
