Lassonde School of Engineering

Integrates the Best of Both

York University’s landmark Lassonde School of Engineering was designed by ZAS Architects + Interiors and Scott Torrance Landscape Architect Inc. It is a high-performance building with sustainable landscape features such as the TerraExt pre-vegetated green roof system with BioBerms™, that effectively manage stormwater onsite, provide an ecological habitat, mitigate urban heat island, protect the roofing membrane and offer wonderful visual appeal.

World Class & Sustainable

The Lassonde School contains 2200 square metres of green roof as part of the “landscape of learning” for civil, mechanical and electrical engineering programs. The rooftop was designed as an amenity space and one of the building’s social areas for students and faculty. Sustainably designed, Lassonde is LEED Gold Certified and is among Toronto’s great landmarks.
