In 2014, IKEA installed the TerraExt pre-vegetated green roof on its Queensway Toronto store to step towards a more sustainable future. The building’s 174 square metres of green roof helps manage stormwater, mitigates urban heat island, cools the building and introduces much-needed green space in an otherwise industrial zone of the city.
