Designed by CJP Architects with numerous sustainable features to achieve LEED Silver classification, the Coquitlam Water Treatment UV Disinfection Facility includes a low maintenance, soilless extensive vegetated roof system with a high water-retention-to-weight ratio. Installed in 2014, this green roof has been helping protect the watershed for more than a decade.

Preserves Pristine Watershed

Protecting the region’s water quality and managing stormwater runoff were key concerns in the design and building of the Coquitlam Water Treatment UV Disinfection Facility. The 1350 square metre green roof system was vetted and approved by local authorities for minimal nutrient leaching and preserving the pristine watershed.
