OVERVIEW

The Alpine Meadow (download brochure) is a loose-laid system consisting of a mix of pre-grown sedum and drought resistant meadow plants rolled out on top of 150 mm of intensive growing medium. Plants are grown on a “blanket” and harvested like sod. Provides excellent instant green with 85% foliar coverage upon installation. The Meadow Blanket® helps reduce water evaporation, soil erosion and weed growth. Components are easy to transport and install.

Increase Stormwater Retention

Alpine Meadow+

Stormwater retention can be increased with Needled Mineral Hydro Blanket which holds more rainfall compared to traditional growing medium while remaining lighter in weight.

Unique Design & Logo Creation

The Meadow Blanket® can adapt and conform to various roof designs and can be easily cut to fit any shape. The flexible blanket can drape over various depths of growing medium for an undulating roofscape. Innovative for providing an enhanced aesthetic in a custom manner, over areas that are highly visible or that do not have strict weight restriction.

CONVENTIONAL ROOFING ASSEMBLY (CRA):

The Alpine Meadow vegetated system is loose-laid on a CRA which helps to protect and extend the lifespan of the roofing membrane which otherwise would be exposed to destructive elements such as ultraviolet degradation, thermal cycling, hailstone impact, and other environmental hazards.

PROTECTED MEMBRANE ROOFING ASSEMBLY (PMR):

Insulation is located above the roofing membrane. A root barrier is installed in between the insulation and roofing membrane to promote open diffusion and ensure the top surface of the insulation has a ventilating air space. The roofing ballast above the insulation becomes part of the system and acts like the drainage layer. Contact us for other roofing assemblies.

PERMIT APPROVALS AND GREEN ROOF DECLARATION

Next Level Stormwater Management provides a Survivability Report with details about the success of our projects to assist with permit processes, such as the City of Toronto permit application.    For more general info or help with other municipalities, please see FAQ or contact us.
